YPO Le Mess Euro Gold
The European Chapter of YPO, the world’s largest leadership community of chief executives counting over 35,000 members globally, brought its European members on an experience corporate event trip beyond the boardroom at the unique island of Santorini.
They spent three exciting days learning about the local culture and the importance of the wine, and were also educated on the impact the volcanoes of Santorini had and continue to have on the every aspect of the local population’s lives by the world renowned marine biologist Paraskevi Nomikou, who shared valuable information while the group was sailing towards the island of Thirasia.
The group also had the privilege of meeting and having a private tour by the archeologist and living legend, Mr Christos Doumas – the Director of Excavations at the archeological site of Akrotiri. One of the most significant ancient cities found across Greece but also the world. With a generous €5000 donation for the development of research and excavations, the YPO valued members not only took with them a very special memory of the island but also left a precious mark, worthy of their brand.
No destination corporate event is complete without a Fishing tour, which in this case was the highlight of the experience. The Giorgaros crew passionately explained the strong link Santorinians have with the sea but also the unique qualities the water and fish have due to the volcanoes and their activities. The group also took a crash course in fishing in the middle of the sea and feasted on the catch of the day – the freshest meal they have ever had!
We were thrilled to be a part of this destination corporate event that expanded beyond the usual networking and exchange of information. Our team worked closely with the exceptional YPO Secretariat based in Brussels to plan, design, and coordinate three days full of local scents on Santorini island. It gave people the opportunity to do all that against a unique backdrop while learning about and actively engaging with local culture and ultimately enjoying themselves – an important quality that encourages success in one’s professional life.
